Valencia have appointed Carlos Corberan as their new head coach after paying a release clause, reportedly between £3-4 million, to secure his departure from West Bromwich Albion.
The 41-year-old Spaniard, who has signed a contract through the 2026-27 season, replaces Ruben Baraja, sacked after just two wins in 17 La Liga matches.
Corberan, who led Albion to successive top-10 Championship finishes and currently has them seventh despite a 30% reduced budget, called leaving the club “the hardest decision of my life.”
Valencia, his hometown club, sit second-bottom in La Liga, four points from safety, and face reigning champions Real Madrid on January 3 in a crucial fixture.
