Nottingham Forest rocket into third

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo urged Nottingham Forest to “enjoy the moment” while staying grounded after Anthony Elanga’s goal secured a 1-0 win over Tottenham and lifted Forest to third in the Premier League.

Elanga, scoring in his third consecutive game, extended Forest’s winning streak to four, their best run since 1995. The victory was also significant for Nuno, marking his first triumph over his former club, Spurs, who dismissed him after a brief stint in 2021.

Nuno emphasized Forest’s rapid progress, noting they have already surpassed last season’s points total at the halfway mark. “The belief is here, but we haven’t achieved anything yet,” Nuno cautioned, urging fans and players to relish the success while staying focused.

The win also highlighted Elanga’s rising form, which has ended a 10-month scoring drought and drawn interest from clubs like Newcastle. Forest’s cohesion under Nuno’s leadership has been key, with the team defeating top sides like Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea this season.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s struggles under Ange Postecoglou continue, with chants of “we want Levy out” reflecting frustration from fans after another disappointing loss. Despite dominating possession, Spurs lacked a cutting edge, while Forest fans celebrated a potential dream season. With upcoming matches against Everton and Wolves, Forest remains within reach of the league leaders, bolstering hopes of achieving something extraordinary this campaign.
